Replaced a 14 year old wood deck with a composite duralife deck. Also replaced the sub structure. Handrails and 2 sets of stairs.
Remove small stairs and replace them with an 8x14 treated wood deck with a new set of stairs
and for the railing, we used round black aluminum spindles and white vinyl lattice skirting.
Working with in building codes and restrictions are sometimes difficult. This customer had existing non-conforming deck that needed to be removed and replaced. Due to current building restrictions we could not tear down more than 75% of the original deck. Our expert design consultants were able to find the solutions to the problems during the 1st visit. So we took off all existing decking and handrails. Added support posts and beams up to code. Current floor joists were 2' on center so we added a floor joist between each of the existing joists making the entire deck joist layout now 12" on center. We then resurfaced the deck and added new handrail to complete the project.
The customer had a paved patio. Although they loved the look of the paved patio, Keeping the weeds for popping up was becoming a challenge. After some consideration they decided to cover up the uneven paver patio. The patio was raised with a treated deck.
